EYEBROWS
Many women shape their eyebrows in order to achieve that perfect arch. There are a few methods to do this using a razor blade, waxing, threading, plucking with tweezers, or depilatory creams. The razor blade method is fine, but the others cause eyebrow loss after years of doing this. Frequently ripping out the eyebrow hair eventually causes ‘traction alopecia’ of the eyebrows. NOTE: Some ladies may have unknowing developed Alopecia Aretas that effects only their facial hair. And many mature women over the age of 40+ will experience eyebrow and eyelash loss due to hormonal ageing. In some cases, this is combined with the above damaging eyebrow shaping that results in women having zero eyelashes and eyebrows.

[I.M.O., no one should use depilatory creams anywhere on the body because it burns worse than a perm! It contains the same ingredients (lye) as a chemical hair straightener, only stronger. Depilatory creams also cause skin hyperpigmentation & chemical burns – which contributes to eyebrow loss (madarosis or milphosis).]

EYELASHES
Many women wear false glued on eyelashes, and after a while they notice their natural eyelashes are gone. Because they are ripped out (traction alopecia) every time the false eyelashes are removed (even if removed gently with eyelash glue solvent), that and the fact that the adhesive used can cause itching-burning irritation and inflammation (even infection! see photo below) contributing to eyelash loss (madarosis or milphosis). Even professional eyelash extensions can cause eyelash loss, because they add additional weight to individual lashes causing them to pull out when manipulated (i.e. face washing, touching, etc.)

[All of the above is compounded when women over 40+ naturally began to experience thinning eyebrows & eyelashes due to hormonal aging.]

Well ladies the reason your eyelashes/eyebrows/bald spot hair never grows back is because the constant trauma and inflammation to the skin/scalp has caused scar tissue. You have effectively caused those areas to have traction alopecia. When the skin is constantly damaged it eventually heals by growing a thin layer of scar tissue over the hair holes/follicles – blocking hair strands from growing thru, and also blocking circulation (blood supply) & nutrients from reaching the hair follicles.
