how to grow hair back in a bald spot

HOW TO REGROW HAIR: ADVANCED METHODS

HOW CAN YOU REGROW HAIR? There are many treatments that can regrow hair. You might be a person that has tried everything with no results. Well first, you need to find out what is causing your hair loss (Already know what’s causing your hairloss? Still read the following) Please read the following posts to help you determine your cause of hairloss:

NOTE: hair loss due to “shedding” is quite different than hair loss due to “breakage”. Shedding is when the hair is coming out from the roots, this is usually due to an internal issue (sickness, immune disorder, allergy, stress, chemo, hormones, etc). Hair “breakage is when the hair stands are literally breaking & snapping off, this is due to the hair strands being weak and breaking off when touched or combed. The weakness causing this breakage is usually due to outside damage caused by things heat, chemicals, dryness/brittle hair, etc. The below treatments are for hair loss due to shedding. Please read my post to “Damaged Hair: Stop Hair Breakage”.

TOPICAL TREATMENTS

DIY INJECTIONS: IM IV OR MESOTHERAPY

MICRONEEDLING

PDO THREADS

DEVICES THAT WORK

• Dr Pen
• Dermaroller
• Red Led Light
• Red 808nm Light

Derma Roller: Derma Rollers improve the effectiveness of skincare & haircare products by up to 40%! The micro channels created by the micro-needling help to assist the penetration of skincare & haircare products to the outer dermal layer, allowing active ingredients to reach their targeted areas and deeply replenish the skin/scalp. The micro-needling process also stimulates Collagen and Elastin production, circulation (as the skin heals itself) and the skin’s natural cell regeneration process. Which is needed to heal your skin/scalp effected by traction alopecia.

Red Light Therapy Cap: Science has proven that ‘Low-Level Laser Therapy’ can be used in both men and women to treat androgenetic alopecia. Studies show that cold laser can regrow your hair on the top of your head/crown and along the forehead hairline. Research proves that LLLT has no side effects, is painless, and safe. Improvement is seen after 12 to 26 weeks of use, with reduced hair fall and noticeable hair growth.

How does it work? The hair growth cycle consists of 3 phases:

#1 Growth (anagen phase)

#2 Resting (telogen phase)

#3 Shedding (catagen phase)

Red and near infrared light therapy was found to increase blood flow (micro blood circulation) in the scalp and stimulate metabolism in catagen or telogen follicles. This results in accelerated production of anagen hair – new hair – stimulation of epidermal stem cells in the hair follicle bulb and shifting the follicles into anagen phase. You don’t have to pay hundreds for one of these devices ($600-$3000) I have found a plethora of this Laser Light Therapy devices on AliExpress, the same ones being sold on Amazon and other large online shoppes. Visit the links listed above for the best devices on AliExpress.

You would use the Dr. Pen to microneedle hair serums & injectable mesotherapy products into the scalp hairline and eyebrows. You would use the red light(s) after performing any of the above procedures to help heal from the trauma, beautify skin, in addition also to stimulating hair growth.

ORAL TREATMENTS

There are vitamin & herbs that can be taken orally to increase hair growth. Collagen is the number one oral supplement known to increase hair growth rate, stop hair from shedding, and beautify skin.

COSMETIC SURGERY & MEDISPA TREATMENTS THAT WILL RESTORE YOUR HAIR

In addition to the above regimen, you should consider the below cosmetic treatments/surgery if you have severe traction alopecia. If you have mild traction alopecia you can perfect your hairline with the below surgery/treatments. Whether mild or severe, everyone will benefit from the below surgery/treatments.

MESOTHERAPY
Mesotherapy is a technique that uses injections of vitamins, enzymes, plant extracts, etc. into the fatty later of skin (adipose) or the dermis. This procedure is used to rejuvenate/tighten skin, remove excess fat (fat dissolve), plump the skin (Restylane lip injections), or regrow hair. Michel Pistor, a doctor in France, developed the technique in 1952. It was originally used to relieve pain. In the years since, it has gained popularity in the United States and other parts of the world.

Mesotherapy is used to:

• Remove fat from localized areas (stomach, thighs, buttocks, hips, legs, arms, and face)
• Reduce Cellulite
• Fade Wrinkles and Lines
• Tighten Loose Skin
• Recontour the Body
• Lighten Pigmented Skin
• Treat Alopecia & Hair Loss

Depending on the issue, the appropriate medication/vitamins/nutrients will be injected to treat that specific issue. For hair loss, common compounds containing vitamins/herbs like: biotin, centella asiatica, silica, vitamin-c, retin-A, collagen, hyaluronic acid are injected into the hairline or entire scalp. You can get these treatments from an experienced Dermatologist, Nurse, or Physician’s assistant at a cosmetic surgeon’s office or MediSpa. They will either use a treatment-head/gun with needle & syringe attached, or they will do it manually with just a needle & syringe. You should definitely get weekly/monthly hair loss Mesotherapy treatments in addition to the daily regimen above. If you are a medical professional you’re welcome to do your own mesotherapy treatments at home/office. Institute BCN provides excellent mesotherapy supplies and fast international shipping. PLATELET-RICH PLASMA INJECTIONS
Falls under mesotherapy treatments. PRP injections aren’t just for anti-aging, these treatments also help restore different types of hair loss. PRP injections are all natural and have been found to stimulate regrowth of hair and reduce the effects of thinning regardless of when/how/why the balding started. Someone with traction alopecia will see great results with PRP injections. Doctors typically use this treatment for androgenetic alopecia (a common condition, in males, that cause hair follicles to shrink) or ‘Male Pattern Baldness’. However in recent years, this treatment has been gaining popularity for treating both male & female hairloss of all kinds :::Incidentally, females can also be affected by androgenetic alopecia and it is called ‘Female Pattern Baldness’::: Platelet rich plasma injections have effects on various parts of the body and skin. Platelet rich plasma for hair loss increases blood supply to the hair follicle and increases the thickness of the hair shaft. PRP also triggers and maintains the growth phase, controls your hair growth cycle, and also slows the progression of hair loss.

How Do PRP Injections Work?
To understand how PRP works, it is important to be aware of the role that platelets play in healing. Platelets are a component of blood, along with red and white blood cells. When a person sustains a cut or wound, the platelets are some of the body’s ‘first responders’ that arrive to stop the bleeding and promote healing. Researchers theorized that if they could extract concentrated platelets and inject them into damaged areas of the body, they could accelerate healing. To produce PRP, a medical professional will take a blood sample and put it into a machine called a centrifuge. This machine spins at a rapid rate, which separates the components of the blood. The medical professional then extracts the platelets for injection.

PRP contains a range of growth factors and proteins that speed tissue repair. As some types of hair loss result from damage to hair follicles (i.e. traction alopecia) Doctors have also used PRP to treat injuries to the tendons, muscles, ligaments, and skin. And much healing is needed for your damaged tracion alopecia scalp.

Benefits of PRP Include:

• Re-stimulating hair growth cycle
• Stopping the spread of baldness
• Thickening existing hair

HAIR TRANSPLANTS
Hair transplantation is a surgical technique that removes hair follicles from one part of the body, called the ‘donor site’, to a bald or balding part of the body known as the ‘recipient site’. This surgical procedure was originally created to treat baldness in males, but in recent years it has been found that a lot of women are getting this procedure also. Especially among African-American women, due to the rise in weave related traction alopecia. If you are considering getting hair transplants, you can expect to pay at least $10,000 for edges. If your entire crown is affected by traction alopecia, expect to pay up to $20k-$30k. Yes this procedure is very expensive but it is well worth it, you’re guaranteed to have a thick hairline & edges after it’s done :::as long as you protect your transplants during healing, and no more tight hair styles after the hair grows in::: TIP: If you get hair transplants, 8 weeks after surgery you should start exfoliating the recipient area with Tretinon gel 0.1% this will keep the skin smooth and elliminate all little bumps at the base of the hair.

SUMMARY
During your journey you must be patient. You didn’t loose your hair/edges in a day, therefore they will not grow back in a day. If you consistently follow the daily regimen above, you’ll see great results. You can restore at least 50% of you hair/edges, if not 100%, without getting the surgery. Pretty soon you won’t have to use hair filler or mascara on your edges, nor will you have to hide your edges with those cloth headbands. In the meantime, I urge you to stay away from weaves, lace front wigs, sew-ins, tight ponytails, braids with fake hair, braids period, hard brown gel on your edges, chemical relaxers on the edges, and chemical hair dyes on the edges. If not, your traction alopecia will worsen until you are completely bald.
